San Francisco’s 8th Annual Ocean Film Festival To Wash Ashore This March

Already, fans of ocean awareness are lining up for tickets

For those of you who can’t seem to find enough short films involving the ocean, San Francisco’s Ocean Film Festival is here to cheer you up.  Sadly, this festival does not include Waterworld, Splash or Jaws, but don’t let that discourage you from attending.  What this festival does have are 12 different short programs and a handful of films bordering on the 1-hour mark.  Plus, having the good fortune of being located on Pier 39 you’ll find tons of fun stuff to do both before and after the films.

This year’s San Francisco Ocean Film Festival will be docking at Theatre 39 on Pier 39 on Wednesday, March 9th and doesn’t plan on departing until Sunday, March 13th.  For the complete list of films, ticket information, and directions click on the jump.

Although Jaws isn’t on the agenda, Ron Elliott, the urchin diver who works solo among the white sharks in the Gulf of the Farallones each fall, will be making an appearance. He’s featured in “Sanctuary in the Sea” – gorgeous film, and thought-provoking! There are some great films in this year’s lineup!
