Announcing The Maya Indie Film Series (7 Films in 7 Days)

The Maya Indie Film Series is just one of many chances us lucky San Franciscans have to catch interesting independent films in a theater rather than on a DVD. This year’s series takes place from Friday, September 16th through Thursday, September 22nd and will be held at the Opera Plaza (601 Van Ness).

Some highlights this year include the directorial debut of Mark Ruffalo (Blindness, The Kids Are All Right) in Sympathy for Delicious, Christian Slater (True Romance) being accosted by a town of all women, one of whom happens to be Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives) in Without Men, and Blue Eyes, which is yet another film starring Rutger Hauer (The Mill and The Cross, Hobo With A Shotgun) who seems to be in just about everything recently.  As always, we at Filmbalaya will be posting reviews of the films leading up to the opening night – so stay tuned.

Schedule, ticket info and trailers for all 7 films after the jumpTickets for all films can be bought at the Opera Plaza on Van Ness or for group sales e-mail Stephen Chavez at StephenChavezPR@yahoo.com
