Announcing The City College of San Francisco’s First Annual Festival of the Moving Image

City College of San Francisco is showing short films made by student filmmakers (including one from me, your humble informer) at the Roxie Theatre on September 19th, 2011 at 7 PM and 9 PM.

Official info:

Monday, September 19th, CCSF Cinema Department presents a remounting of the 2011 City Shorts Film Festival. The City Shorts Festival is a student run festival that screens each year in May at the Diego Rivera Theater on the Ocean Campus of City College. City Shorts is the signature event that showcases the raw and innovative talent of students enrolled in the Cinema Department. The programmers chose the best student films, reflecting the culmination of their studies.

City Shorts films are wholly produced by students attending City College, working towards a career in film or video, and can be of any genre. The end result is a progressive, edgy and exciting body of work that hearken these new voices as some of the strongest and most talented to come out of the Bay Area. Show times at the Roxie Theater of the 2011 City Shorts program will be at 7pm and 9pm with a brief Q&A with the filmmakers following each screening. Tickets are $6.50 for students and $10 for general admission.
