New To San Francisco Theaters Starting Friday, January 13th

A battle in Bosnia, two very different battles in Brooklyn (one of which is directed by Roman Polanski), and a Russian band of hipsters battling for expression.  What do these things have in common?  They’re all featured in new films opening this week in San Francisco theaters.  To see the full list of films and where they’re playing follow the jump.

Battle For Brooklyn (Roxie Theater)

The story of reluctant activist, Daniel Goldstein, as he struggles to save his home and community from being demolished to make way for the densest real estate development in U.S. history.

Carnage (Embarcadero Center Cinema & Balboa Theatre)

Two pairs of parents hold a cordial meeting after their sons are involved in a fight, though as their time together progresses, increasingly childish behavior throws the evening into chaos.

Hipsters (Lumiere Theatre)

Young people struggle to do things their way in the 1950s.

In The Land of Blood and Honey (Opera Plaza Cinema)

During the Bosnian War, Danijel, a soldier fighting for the Serbs, re-encounters Ajla, a Bosnian who’s now a captive in his camp he oversees.
