New to San Francisco Theatres Starting Friday, November 29th

China fighting Japan, victims fighting a serial killer, the mob fighting thieves, sisters fighting morals, and a slew of Bollywood dancers fighting to be seen by Bay Area moviegoers.  What do all these quarrels have in common?  They’re all featured in new films opening this week in San Francisco.  Follow the jump to see what these films are, and where you can see them.

Back to 1942 (Presidio Theatre)

A deadly drought in 1942 takes its toll on central China’s Henan province during the war against Japan.

The Collection (AMC Van Ness/AMC Metreon)

A man who escapes from the viscous grips of the serial killer known as “The Collector” is blackmailed to rescue an innocent girl from the killer’s booby-trapped warehouse.

Killing Them Softly (AMC Van Ness/AMC Metreon/Marina Theatre/4-Star Theatre)

Jackie Cogan is an enforcer hired to restore order after three dumb guys rob a Mob protected card game, causing the local criminal economy to collapse.

Starlet (Opera Plaza Cinemas)

An unlikely friendship forms between 21 year-old Jane and the elderly Sadie after Jane discovers a hidden stash of money inside an object at Sadie’s yard sale.

Talaash: The Hunt Begins… (AMC Metreon)

For them it was revenge.  For him it was a challenge.  A timeless ride on a ferocious mission.
